Dr. Loren Borud was born and raised in a small town called Minot in North Dakota. After high school, he enrolled at the Stanford University to study medicine. He majored in Physics & Human Biology graduating with honors. He later joined the Harvard Medical School and after graduating he began his medical career serving in a number of medical institutions. These institutions include West Los Angeles VA Hospital, UCLA Medical Center, Martin Luther King Drew Medical Center and Olive View Medical Center. Dr. Loren Borud has been board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has enjoyed a medical practice experience for over two decades and along the way has amassed scholarly knowledge which is practical as well.
After so many years, Dr. Loren Borud has now expanded his practice to corporate by establishing a consulting firm. Through this firm, Dr. Loren Borud offers reliable and useful advice and expert opinion to medical institutions and companies that manufacture plastic surgery equipment throughout the US. This consulting firm has also enabled him to serve key companies in the US that deal with the field of biotechnology, offering expert advice on strategies of marketing directed towards physicians and patients, innovation and product design, and even medical microeconomics. He has also gone for further studies in Kellogg School of Management located at Evanston in Illinois. This helps him to be able to gain the balance between his specialized knowledge in medicine and corporate knowhow.
Besides his consulting business, Dr. Loren Borud is also an author. He is the editor in chief of Atlas of Body Contouring after Massive Weight Loss. Among his works are thirty scientific publications published by CineMed in 2009. He also embarked on a project to write his own book about the economics of plastic surgery. The book was entitled Plastikonomics and it was a huge success. In this book Dr. Loren Borud provides a valuable look into plastic surgery field and shares what he learned at the Harvard Medical School. Despite his unbelievably busy schedule, Dr. Loren Borud still finds some time to pursue his passions and hobbies. For instance, he likes to run and is a regular participant in the Boston Marathon and he is also an active cyclist. In addition to that, he likes to travel a lot and has visited many countries all over the world.
